SCHOOL EXPERIENCE

Relationship and socialization:


"They are all friends and they play together so that means they are learning all the time with their “friends”. I worked in groups, so that means that I had a role and everyone had his/her one so we thought we were important and, at the same time, I was learning different abilities from my classmate, so we were socializing."

"I remember the name of my first teacher "Ana" and the name of my friends at that time."

"We used to talk with the small pupils at school, and to do different activities such as playing with them, explaining them different lessons..."

"We did different special lunch or dinner with parents, teachers and classmates and that was like a party"

"The last day at school, we used to prepare a surprise party to the teacher and we give him/her a present from all the students"



Classes



"At the same time, classes weren´t relaxed. Children couldn´t move around it with freedom, they couldn´t experiment with the objects and it was alwaysa strong control.

"Sometimes we move the desks around the class to sit down on the floor or maybe to do a U/L distribution class. I really liked watching my classmates face"

"Teachers prefer being in a higher position to look around us, but I felt like anyone could see me and I couldn´t see anyone"

"These three years were a great step forward in my academic life because I changed the previous style of a basic education for a high level in the different aspects of my scholastic life."

"The arrangement of the space in the class was different than in the preschool phase, for example, we sat in "U" position and the teacher stood in a position to see all the class."

¨When I was in the third grade my Maths teacher hit me because I didn´t know to say him the lesson.¨


Administration / Direction



"I don´t understand why teachers, and not only teachers, politicians too, think we are going to improve our knowledge only memorizing."

"I remember that I was in a replenishment class (logopeda) because I did not know how pronounce different sounds of the words or letters."

"An anecdote in this aspect was that I did not do the subject of religion because my parents did not want it so the most important people of the school decided to leave me (and another friend) in the floor of the hall while the rest of my classmates were doing it.

"The principal was always the person who decided the things and our opinion wasn´t important. We were furious. If something happened at class, the principal believed the teacher but no the students point of view"

¨When I was seventeen ,my science teacher Mr. Ramon send me to the Principal because I didn´t want to go to the church because we had an exam after the mass and I wanted to study. The principal sent to my parents a injury letter for this reason, because He said ¨This is a catholic school and the first reason to stay here is God and the virgin Mary¨. ¨

CÉSAR BONA, AN EXAMPLE TO FOLLOW.

CÉSAR BONA, AN EXAMPLE TO FOLLOW.

We have decided as a group to talk about César Bona. He is not a tipycal teacher, something that took our attention.

The first day he arrived to a school, he said: "Throw your books, I don´t care if you are intelligent or not reading/studying with books, I really want to have good persons". We have also shared this video because it follows the line what we see in this subject, for example the arragement of the classroom to transmit knowledge according the needs of each student (in this video the gipsy students).

The development of Cesar´s class work in emotions and relation with their classmates and family is associated with the diagram about the concepts of the school that we did previously. We dealed with the relation between "Classes" and "Relationship and Socialization" which led to the Social aspect and we gave the example of the values that work the family with the help of the school. César Bona works this social aspect with a film which join the relationship between the students and their family to advance in the education field as in the personal field.

We really wanted to share this video with you, and with the rest of our classmates because is a way to understand the internal working of school. Not only WHAT IS SCHOOL and WHY is considered as a boring place, watching that video can help us to go far away!.

CONCEPTS OF THE SCHOOL
